ESPN at LA Live• A complete build of a production facility using the 3G digital video standard.• ESPN at LA Live was built with 4 equipment rooms, 2 studios, 3 PCRs, 2 media rooms, 4 graphics stations, 2 MCRs, 7 Quantel edit bays and a transmission room.Responsibilities• Managed all equipment from request to installation including fiber.• Generated from drawings complete cable run-lists and equipment bill of materials.• Designed a spreadsheet which instantly calculated all the cable lengths in a runlist, between any two of 530 racks or consoles.

Projects• Installed: Dolby LM‐100, Videotek VTM‐300G, Telestream Flipfactory and Digital Rapids encoders.• Set up the system to encode at proper AC3 dialnorm to address complaints about commercial volume.• Tested the Navic Telescoping system, an interactive advertising application for set top boxes.• Helped commission a “Local” system for VOD content loading and ran its first six months of operation.• Installed and maintained a 24 SlingBox network for remote monitoring.Responsibilities• Followed up on all on-air problems involving inserted adds, achieving a Technical Run‐Rate of 98.9%.• Produced a morning and monthly status report of the ad insertion system.• Created drawings in Microsoft Visio and did the project wiring.
