William Ward was born in Norwalk, Connecticut in 1960 and grew up in Evergreen Colorado from 1963 to 1987. He attended the University of Colorado between 1982 and 1985, studying finance and economics. His studies sparked an interest and an opportunity in the mortgage industry he went into mortgage banking with Alpine State Mortgage in Denver, Colorado in 1985 till 1987.In 1987 William finally returned to Norwalk, Connecticut and was hired as a broker trainee by Drexel Burnham Lambert in Darien, Connecticut. The next year he was hired by W.J. Nolan, located on 2 Wall Street in New York City and became series 7 licensed Broker, beginning his career as an investment advisor in 1989. Jesup Lamont then hired William as an advisor in 1991, located on 45 Broadway in New York City. Jesup Lamont became Jesup, Josephthal, which then became known as Josephthal, Lyons, and Ross. First Albany hired William Ward to be an advisor and branch annuity coordinator in 1997. First Albany was acquired by First Union Securities, then Wachovia Securities.To service his clients' needs fully, and not service their investments because of a management's particular ideology, William decided to become an independent financial advisor in 2005.
