Participated in multiple research projects in the Brazilian Amazon with the Instituto Juruá (supported by National Geographic) under the mentorship of Dr Andressa Scabin and Dr João Campos Silva. The projects included to capture, measure, sample tissue from and apply GPS tags to both Black Caiman (Melanosuchus niger) and Arapaima (Arapaima gigas).Other projects worked on include surveying the abundance of various economically significant tree species and surveying Amazon freshwater dolphins (both Inia geoffrensis and Sotalia fluviatilis).Actively participated in Community Based Management of Arapaima on the Rio Juruá whilst taking samples for genetic and mercury content analysis.
