Provided vigilant oversight of all Fair Value Adjustments (FVAs), xVA, IPV, BO, Model Limitation, etc. Maintained ownership of the HBCA Valuation Policy and Rates Source Documentation, conducted monitoring and analysis of daily and monthly P&L, and executed control processes such as Off Market Rate Checking, Permitted Instrument, Cancel & Amend, Volcker commentaries, FX Buy-In, etc. Conducted P&L backtesting against VaR and managed all other daily and monthly control procedures.- Offered crucial support for the quarterly and annual accounting processes related to Global Banking & Market activities.- Served as the Chair of the local Valuation Committee and played a vital role as a member of the Regional Valuation Committee.- Represented the HBCA Product Control function in senior forums, including Volcker Committees, Business Continuity, and Valuation Committees.- Acted as the key contact point for internal audit, Compliant Audit, external auditors, and Independent Model Review. The Americas Regional Product Control Team holds accountability for overseeing Product Control teams across seven sites in the Americas. This role entails direct management of issues, deliverables, and personnel at the regional sites, necessitating robust leadership skills to align priorities with local Product Controllers, CFO, and FO, ensuring timely delivery. Key responsibilities include:- Collaborating in providing valuation, reserving, accounting, and price testing guidance to HSBC offices in the Americas region.- Offering support for ad hoc regional Global Markets finance projects.- Spearheading the establishment of controls for the expansion of derivatives business in the Americas region.- Assisting the FO in preparing due diligence papers for the region, reviewing them from a Global Markets Finance perspective, guiding sites through their assessment, and providing signoff.- Managing joint HBUS-regional sites due diligence to ensure consistent and timely approval.- Conducting audit reviews, testing the accuracy and completeness of regional finance department controls through remote assessments and site visits.- Contributing to the training of regional staff members on products, systems, and controls.- Supporting the review of regional audit reports and advising sites on audit point resolution.- Facilitating communication between sites, the regional center, and the Group Head Office.- Participating in the resolution of site issues and queries, ensuring effective control and tracking until resolution at the appropriate level.

The main responsibilities were:- P&L calculation and analysis (by the risk factors) of the trading room books (Products: Bonds, Futures, Repos, Interest Rate Swaps / FX Swaps, money market products...).- Control and validation of pricing parameters using independent sources of market data.- Reconciliation of economic revenues with the estimated P&L from the FO.- Calculation of the Own Credit Spread for the FVO books of the ALM department.- Preparation of the FX reporting, monitoring of the limits and justification of the breaches.- Control all transactions are done at market price and verify that all client margins meet the Best Execution Policy.- Calculation of the Fair Values and of the hedge ineffectiveness ratio for AFS/FVH books.- Prepare and participate to the monthly Valuation Committees.- Writing monthly reports explaining book P&L.- Build new reports for the management or the traders using VBA or SQL.- Attend Due Diligence committees when new products are launched.- Improve P&L explanation through different projects (write technical specifications, liaise with the quant team...)- Good knowledge of the accounting rules AFS, CFH, FVH, ACC, TRD...

- Ensure that the Balance Sheet is correctly valued with respect to current best practice and accounting standards- Ensure the day to day production of P&L, P&L analysis and commentary, off-market rate checking and independent price verification; ensure that all output is produced in a timely and accurate manner, is fully reviewed before distribution to senior management and is completed to the level of Group best practice- Review and comment the VaR Back Testing results- Manage production of all necessary and appropriate fair value adjustments, and that all model limitations are appropriately dealt with for both new products and existing products as market condition change- Ensure a continuous improvement programme for all activities including increasing efficiency and controls through procedure or system changes.
