I led and managed national and international projects, focusing on developing advanced in vitro models, known as organ-on-chip systems, that mimic the functions of complex tissues and organs. I ensured compliance with ISO 13485 and actively engaged with national and European initiatives, forming strategic partnerships and building project consortiums. A major accomplishment was securing €895,000 for the DIM3D project, which aims to enhance technology centers in Spain by developing invasive implants using additive manufacturing. I coordinated Leitat's bioprinting advancements and facilitated the acquisition of new bioprinters for the project.

During my PhD, I led a collaborative academic-industry project aimed at advancing meniscus tissue engineering. My main focus was on developing innovative methods to replicate the complex ultrastructure of native menisci using cutting-edge 3D printing and bioprinting techniques. I modified natural polymers, such as alginate and gelatin, to optimize the degradation rate of bioinks, ensuring the structural integrity of the printed constructs. I also assessed scaffold architectures to create spatially organized cartilaginous tissues and analyzed their impact on mechanical properties. A key achievement was identifying a novel cell source for meniscus tissue engineering, which enhanced the biocompatibility and functionality of the engineered tissues. Ultimately, I successfully fabricated cell-based, meniscus-shaped constructs that closely mimicked the native architecture and organization, making a significant contribution to the field.

During my master's thesis, I delved into the cutting-edge field of biohybrid robotics, seeking to integrate biological and artificial materials. As part of this, I successfully fabricated sophisticated skeletal muscle-like actuators using 3D bioprinting techniques. These biohybrid actuators were designed and controlled through electrical stimulation, showcasing a profound understanding of interdisciplinary principles. This research not only contributed to the emerging field of biohybrid robotics but also demonstrated my proficiency in utilizing state-of-the-art technologies for innovative and impactful scientific advancements.

The study provided valuable insights into the genetic underpinnings of Alzheimer's disease and contributed to my foundational expertise in cellular and molecular biology.
