About Xi Phi Sigma
Welcome to the Xi Phi Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International!Sigma Theta Tau International, now known simply as Sigma, was founded by six nurses at the Indiana University Training School for Nurses in 1922. Since it's creation, Sigma now consists of 135,000 active members from more than 90 countries worldwide. Sigma is an Honor Society of Nursing committed to fostering excellence, scholarship, and leadership in nursing to improve health care worldwide. Sigma's name stands for love, courage, and honor.The Xi Phi Chapter 355 received its charter on XXX at the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs. Currently, our chapter consists of 186 professional nurses and nursing students. Our chapter's mission is to foster the continuing growth of student and professional nurses alike through leadership development, community involvement, and research advancement. Our vision is to provide services to our members that encourage continued growth in the field of nursing. There are several ways to become a member of Sigma. As an undergraduate nursing student, you are invited to join if you have completed at least half of your nursing curriculum, achieve academic excellence, rank in the top 35% of your class, and meet expectations of academic integrity. For nursing students of a graduate nursing program, you must meet the criteria listed above as well have completed at least one quarter of your nursing curriculum. As a nurse leader, you must have a minimum of a baccalaureate in any field, have demonstrated achievement in nursing excellence, and be legally recognized to practice nursing.Wondering what being a Sigma member can do for you?
