The Massachusetts Clean Energy Center’s Investment team functions like a venture capital investment fund, investing $2M per year in cleantech startups based in Massachusetts. Ms. Xi researched and conducted due diligence on potential equity and venture debt investments in early-stage companies, supported management of more than 20 early-stage companies by attending meetings with Boards of Directors and management, reviewing financials, advising on development milestones, and participating in follow-on investments. In addition, she supported the Innovation and Industry Support Division to review and evaluate technical proposals for grant funding of up to $500K each, drafted reports and memos to summarize and recommend applications for investments or grants to CEO and Board of Directors of the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center as well as external audiences from various backgrounds. She also aggregated, cleaned, and redesigned multiple databases to better track performance metrics of and conduct data analysis for various programs.
