I am a geo-data scientist with research interests in spatiotemporal data mining, big data analysis, geo-visual analytics, and their applications in different domains of science, engineering, and humanity. My dissertation research focuses on the mining, mapping and visual analytics of big spatial mobility data and spatially embedded complex networks, established by the movements and connections in geographic space such as human migration, taxi trips, commuting, social network, information dissemination, and disease spreading, among many others. My research has developed a series of new computational and visual methods to effectively analyze, visualize and understand big data of mobility and spatial flows, including flow clustering, flow mapping, spatiotemporal analysis, event detection, time series analysis, and application development.
