• Research project on the study of “Membrane binding of S100A10 protein and AHNAK peptide involved in cell membrane repair”:Protein S100A10 might be an early biomarker of diabetes development, it also participates in different cellular mechanisms and has different functions, especially at the membrane. Among those, it forms a ternary complex with annexin A2 and the C-terminal of AHNAK and then joins the dysferlin membrane repair complex. Together, they act as a platform enabling membrane repair.✓ Learn to manage (plan and organize) research work for the doctoral project.✓ Optimize overexpression and purification of S100A10.✓ Characterize the stability of S100A10 and the AHNAK peptide by circular dichroism and attenuated total reflectance.✓ Study the membrane binding of S100A10 and the AHNAK peptide by surface tensiometry, ellipsometry and solid-state NMR spectroscopy.✓ Budget management, management of two sub-projects (internships in Montreal).✓ Help Professor Élodie Boisselier (being an examiner) to evaluate scientific articles.• Collaborative project with Prof. Philippe Tessier (CHU de Québec Research Center – Laval University): Study of S100A8 and S100A9 proteins’ membrane binding by surface tensiometry.✓ Communicate and discuss with collaborators, manage research work on this project.✓ as an expert to offer surface tensiometry technique service and data analysis.✓ Our work helps to figure out the lipid preference order of S100A8 and S100A9 to better understand their localisations in several inflammatory diseases such as arthritis, psoriasis and Crohn's disease.• Collaborative project with Prof. Gary S. Shaw (University of Western Ontario): Study of Dysferlin Apo-C2A and C2A proteins’ membrane binding by surface tensiometry.✓ Our work helps to figure out the lipid preference order of Dysferlin Apo-C2A and C2A to better understand their function in cell membrane repair.• Train and supervise five undergraduate and Master internship students.
