However, their sensitivity and specificity need improvement. The underlying sensing mechanisms also require more in-depth study. In this project, nanoparticles with rationally designed compositions and structures will be synthesized and tested in VOC sensing. Structure-property relationships will be investigated. The ultimate goal is to fabricate a sensor that can differentiate common scent molecules from the synthesized nanomaterials. Students will conduct experiments for nanoparticle synthesis, sensor fabrication, and sensor testing. They will work with other staff for nanoparticle characterization and learn to analyze sensor output and improve sensor design and testing procedure. Designed and oversaw basic combat and advanced skills training manuals for 2 battalions of 300 soldiers; led to over 90% combat readiness from hands on training with armoured vehicles and open field instructions.Spearheaded the Armoured unit's digitalisation efforts, facilitating efficiency improvements of 300% increase, for communication and coordination of training logistics.
