Professor Xavier R. Segura is an distingusihed expert in the field of law, criminal justice, law enforcement, and legal studies fueled by a deep commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion. In his role as an Assistant Professor of Practice at the University of Arizona's School of Government and Public Policy, he molds the next generation of leaders through captivating courses on criminal justice administration, ethics, and honors thesis. Professor Segura goes above and beyond by providing mentorship to students, offering guidance on research endeavors, and developing an inclusive curriculum that caters to diverse perspectives. He also serves as a Part-Time Professor at the Northern Arizona University & Pima Community College, teaching lower/upper division criminology, criminal justice, administration of justice studies, ethics, criminal law, and procedures courses. A recipient of the 2022-2023 Pima Community College Leadership in Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Award, he fosters inclusive learning environments. Chosen for the 2023 University of Arizona's Culturally Responsive Curriculum Development Institute, he enhances his expertise in inclusive curriculum development.
