Each event can be detected within 2-3 PMU samples in an extremely low dimensional space.> Currently exploring PMU-based power system event classifications using system identification methods.> Obtained IEEE Continuing Education Unit (CEU): Synchrophasor Fundamentals and Applications: Leveraging the Investment. “Multi-scale integration and aggregation of power system dynamical models”> Designed a real power (P) - reactive power (Q) coupled modeling framework for power system small signal dynamics analysis. > Capable to perform multi-spatial-scale integration and aggregation on any system level.“Voltage stability analysis for power systems”> Proposed a novel performance index to monitor system-wide voltage collapse in a distributed way. > Calculated the index for each control area with only tie-line bus information exchanged. > Alerted prone to voltage collapse for the whole system whenever one area issues an alert.> Capable to provide system operator 30 minutes to perform corrective control before an actual collapse.“Impact of price responsive demand on look-ahead & real-time markets”> Investigated the impact of price responsive demand (PRD) on congestion and locational marginal prices (LMPs) in the poll-based look-ahead and real-time electricity markets. > Conducted simulations in modified IEEE 9-bus and 57-bus systems to demonstrate PRD-based dispatch model leading to both reduction in LMPs and alleviations in system congestion.

o Designed C++-based executable software to produce generic operational data model of PJM. o Integrated five functional data modules in PSS/E format: power flow, state estimation, transient stability analysis (TSA), voltage stability analysis (VSA), and automatic voltage control (AVC). o Outcome of the software, the generic data model of PJM, will be released soon as a benchmark system for future research and testing work.
