As a PhD researcher, I was working on the development of an automated design tool for District Heating Networks. My work involved utilizing nonlinear topology optimization methods, which facilitates the optimization of modern large-scale District Heating Networks. The focus of this research is to improve the efficiency and reliability of these networks through the application of advanced nonlinear optimization techniques.

At this role, I developed a Python-based tool designed to generate synthetic ultrasonic test data. This data was created based on Finite Element Method (FEM) simulations conducted in Ansys Mechanical. The purpose of this tool was to evaluate a novel automatic flaw detection software, providing it with a robust synthetic dataset to optimize its performance and accuracy.
