It almost seemed magical to me how we could use these machines to automate and, more importantly, improve how the world was run. I joined the IT industry in pursuit of a career in innovation. Data analytics will drive innovation in the foreseeable future. I am currently at Carnegie Mellon University to gain the technical skills and management expertise to join this new band of innovators.Most recently, I was on the “Innovation Team” at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) working within their Centre of Excellence for SAP. I was involved in developing prototypes and proofs-of-concept centered around SAP’s stack of analytics products. My largest undertaking was developing a cloud-based, analytics platform that provided real-time, lightweight dashboards. I have worked extensively on data visualizations and my focus developing customizable and reusable dashboards.As someone who believes in working smarter rather than harder, I always strive to incorporate automation into my work. I have developed an automation tool that allowed me to generate reusable data visualizations within seconds, saving me hours at work. The application was well received by my superiors and was adopted as a standard by my department. I strive to bring a similar verve for efficiency to whichever role I am assigned.My goal is to work as an analytics consultant, which will enable me to use my technical knowledge and leadership skills to find creative solutions to any given problem.
