I thought RefME was awesome (as do about a million others), so I tweeted them just under a year ago and now I am proud to be their Head of UK Academic Partnerships! RefME empowers millions of researchers and students to save time and improve the accuracy of their referencing with our cloud-based web platform, mobile apps and browser extensions. In my new role as Academic Technologist for Instructure Global Ltd, my main responsibility is to ensure a pedagogic and technical fit between the intuitive, cloud-native Canvas VLE (Virtual Learning Environment) and the institutions and organisations, which are considering adopting Canvas (see more about the VLE itself at www.canvasvle.co.uk).I will be working significantly across the EMEA region (from the UK London office) and additionally with the US Headquarters, in Utah, working on research and presentations/publications, globally. I am part of a rapidly growing and highly skilled company, that I feel understands the impact of powerful learning and teaching experiences, both for staff and students. I am also personally interested in the subsequent impacts on student engagement and performance, following interactions with rich online learning experiences and resources. Instructure is a global educational technology company headquartered in the US, that has focused on creating a powerful and easy to use virtual learning environment (Canvas), built around the staff and student-user experience. It allows a rich online learning environments to be quickly created with (what I think are) some phenomenal features integrated throughout the environment seamlessly, that would definitely save staff and student time.

Through a wonderful partnership with the Winchester Student Union, I have a responsibility for our agreed strategic direction, budget, investments and the variety, quantity and quality of the student engagement opportunities at the University of Winchester. This builds on the University's leadership of the TESTA and FASTECH projects which founded 'The Student Fellows Scheme'.
