Played a key leadership role in overseeing the development of the iconic Citystars project, which included three hotels, a commercial center, and residential and office buildings, covering a total built-up area of 780,000 square meters. The project had a total value of $800 million and was executed under a modified FIDIC re-measured contract.As the Owner’s representative for the Inter-Continental Hotel portion, I managed a complex scope that included 535 guestrooms, 184 serviced apartments, 73 bungalows, 14 penthouses, as well as public areas, health club facilities, and parking. I was seconded to the project management firm (Bechtel International, then Moharram Bakhoum), working closely with contractors, consultants, and operators to ensure alignment with the owner’s vision and project goals.Key Contributions: • Led the coordination and monitoring of contractor performance, ensuring timely and quality execution of the project. • Assessed and managed the contractor’s time schedules, mitigating delays and ensuring adherence to milestones. • Prepared and presented comprehensive monthly progress reports to the owning company, providing strategic insights and addressing any risks or challenges. • Identified and addressed contractor deficiencies and performance shortfalls, implementing corrective measures to keep the project on track. • Monitored and ensured high-performance standards from the project consultants, both on-site and in the office. • Acted as the key liaison between the client, operators, and contractors, ensuring all stakeholder requirements were met and the project proceeded smoothly.By effectively managing project execution and maintaining a strong focus on quality, timelines, and cost, I contributed significantly to the successful completion of a landmark development that transformed Egypt’s real estate landscape.
