Interfacial layers to enable recyclability of all-solid-state lithium metal batteries• Designed the architecture of recyclable all-solid-state lithium batteries by incorporating interfacial layers at electrode interfaces, facilitating the delamination of battery components. Polymer-salt layers provide better physical contacts at the Li7La3Zr2O12 and Li-metal anode interface. Removal of these layers enables efficient separation and direct recycling of battery components.• Fabricated all-solid-state batteries using recycled components, showcasing the achievement of direct recycling while maintaining the core chemical structure of active materials. The in-situ formed LiF-rich protective layer passivates undesired reactions at lithium metal anode, promoting the cycling stability.
