About Yi Jing Fly
Hi there, my name is Yi Jing. I was born in Shanghai, grew up in Singapore, and furthered my studies in New York and Tokyo. For the most part of my life, my interests and training have been in art and design. I enjoyed learning about art history, and took pleasure in creating. However, I realized that my strengths were not in expression through art. My true strengths lie in discovery and curiosity. I am a keen observer who pays attention to emerging trends and changing sentiments across various industries, connecting the dots to bring fresh perspective behind our collective behavior and intentions. My research includes "China Too Cool: Vernacular Innovations and Aesthetic Discontinuity of China," as well as podcast episodes and articles published in Framing Visual Culture.At work, I love deep diving into research, but I also enjoy learning from peers and colleagues, and I especially like optimising workflows. My expertise are in fashion, Chinese consumers, Japanese culture, and visual culture. My fluency and cultural literacy in English, Chinese, and Japanese puts me at an advantage when delving into these markets.
