Collaborated on the Wuliangsuhai Lake conservation project to reverse damage from fertilizer runoff; Developed Arc-GIS model to assess restoration project outcomes. Established vegetation coverage and degree of desertification as the evaluation index system, choosing from changes in layers of soil, landforms, and wildlife population; conducted site visits to learn how microorganisms can support water purification.

Collected and analyzed germinated pollen data from diverse tree species; Measured pollen tube length using AmScope and assessed germination rates using Excel; presented weekly discussion on assigned reading material that helped us to brainstorm the topic of our research project; Collaborated with teammates to create a T-test analysis for the average germination rate and pollen tube length for Picea Engelmannii; opened the project presentation in front of the project faculty by introducing the background information and thesis; claimed the necessity of the analysis of the effects of elevation within species to the germination rate in the final discussion.

Explored variations in leaf traits across different successional stages; Investigated the relationship between leaf traits and their ecological strategies to adapt the various environments; Used ImageJ to measure leaf area and petiole length; organized the leaf area and petiole length based on different tree species, temperature, and altitude in Excel; attended the weekly meeting to discuss what we learned from the assigned reading material; gained knowledge of tree species and how the environment impacts their biological and ecological traits to help conduct our research on traits of modern leaves; contributed in the final reporting conference by presenting the traits of leaves can vary due to different temperature and altitude.
