I have been practicing yoga since 2008 but the past several years I have been practicing yoga on and off my mat and became passionate about sharing the impact it can have on one's life. I had a thought then that came and went that someday it would be cool to teach yoga. In my profession as School Social Work for almost 20 years, engaging with students, families and staff addressing their social and emotional needs I saw a direct connection to my work on the mat. I learned through my journey to yoga, that this work compliments my life and my overall well being. My journey began when I walked into Yoga One, a local yoga center that has since closed, I felt the embrace into a come one and come all yoga community. I learned from those experienced yoga teachers from numerous classes and workshop. The true shift came when I took the 40 day Personal Revolution with some of the instructors at Yoga One. After this course, I followed the path in which it was leading me to teach and grow others. Through the grace of Michelle Young with My Vinyasa Practice, I was awarded a scholarship for Yoga for Black Wellness to obtain my certification as a Yoga Instructor. As you can see through my journey the stars aligned, along with my faith, and now I am here: YogiBelle, here to teach and guide you right where you are.
