My role as QC Assistant Manager is to ensure incoming shipments meet product specifications per pre-approved materials colour, quality standard and garment inspection data sheets. Specific accountabilities* Review and comment all bulk fabric color, quality and technical performance prior to production for apparel and hard goods.* Review garment AQL inspection report, communicate quality concerns and give QA recommendations to factories.* Testing materials using Stormtech and industry standard lab testing. Record all test results and report to management team for any quality concern.* Establish color and quality standard for seasonal new styles. Manage bulk fabric library.* Conducting quality control audits on all incoming shipments. Assist QC manager to give direction to QC inspectors and cross functional team when audits fail. * Daily communication with oversea mills and factories including where there are special requirements and quality control issues.* Support QC manager to handle quality complaints by investigating the root cause, developing corrective action plans with factory and follow up the improvement progress.

Key Accountability Tasks:* Establish and maintain vendor relationships to ensure key partnerships for future growth.* Assist with sourcing and researching innovative fabrics that satisfy RYU’s vision and market trends.* Provide direct communication and support to vendors daily.* Work closely with production manager to monitor schedule and delivery.* Evaluate weekly WIP report to troubleshoot production issues and find solution(s).* Construct and maintain a detailed fabric/trim reference library, ensuring to archive fabric records, swatches and samples.* Organize incoming fabrics by program, style#, colors and updating material tracker.* Manage fabric test, garment field test, fabric wash/dry test. Record and report all fabric test results. Ensuring raw materials meet all RYU’s criteria for price, quality, performance and function.* Work closely with Colorist and send lab dip request to vendors, track and make sure lab dip approval within deadline.* Order fabric yardage for proto samples and development.* Coordinate/submit seam tape test/heat transfer print on all fabric that will be used in bulk.* Track trims sample, fabric sample and ensure all bulk qualities are approved by the deadline.* Collect and provide garment care label instruction.* Daily communication with domestic vendors and oversea vendors, trouble shoot production issues, delivery timeline and quality control inspection.* Work closely with production manager for garment costing.* Ensure protos submitted on time and assist measuring incoming proto sample and PP sample.* Manage and coordinate production flow.* Review and confirm fabric shipment samples for production.

South Asia Knitting Factory is one of the top 3 sweater manufacturer in China.My duties at the Canada office are:- Liaising between Buyers and Factory on knit/sweater production.- Daily communication via email with Nordstrom (Product Developers, Technical Designers, Designers, Production Planners, Raw Material Developer).-Negotiate and confirm garment F.O.B pricing.- Review documents including Purchase orders, Tech Packs, Measurement Specs, Bill of Materials, QA [quality assurance] pages and garment test reports.- Ensuring submits are sent on time for approval / receive comments on time (Fit Comments, Garment Testing, Lab Dips, Bulk Knitdowns, Mock Ups, Trims, Artwork approvals)- Meet calendar deadlines (Yarn Sourcing, Proto/Production samples for buy meetings, Bulk Delivery)
