That’s what it’s like for me to bring the right home and the right people together.With more than 30 years of experience as a REALTOR, I experience that joy over and over —whether I help a young family find just the right house to call their own or help a downsizing senior find just the right individuals to carry on the house’s legacy. But it wasn’t always people and houses that I was trying to unite.In my early career, I labored as a welder with the Steelworkers union in East Baltimore. During those toilsome days, I developed lifetime values that transcend any industry—commitment, attention to detail, and the desire to see elements come together in the right way. I realized, however, that handling materials didn’t satisfy me the way that helping people does. So I decided to make a career change. I obtained my real estate license and worked hard. My life was transformed from that of a blue collar worker to that of the American dream. It had all the right elements melded together—great family, enviable house, rewarding job. Life was good.But then the downturn happened in 2007-2008. Real estate was hard. Life was a struggle.From my experience as a welder, I knew firsthand how elements need an environment of intense heat to merge in the best way. So despite life’s adversities, I persevered. Now, having passed through the flames, I’m once again enjoying the elements of a “refined” life. I get even greater satisfaction from helping people solve their problems and realize their dreams—for I’ve experienced it myself. I’ve known the toils of forging metals. I’ve known the joys of uniting people with homes. And through it all, no matter what fiery trials may come, I’ve discovered that working hard and keeping the faith can bring the right elements together in a perfect match.
