I managed a team of permanent staff of up to fifty globally dispersed contractors (direct & indirect reports) responsible for developing the strategy, prioritizing initiatives, delivering technology recommendations, technology uplift, global metrics and reporting. My team supported a large-scale high-profile master data improvement program and was directly responsible for developing, delivering and supporting Predicta™, Rio Tinto’s internally developed Predictive Asset Health Services offering (industrial analytics) applied globally. I was also part of Rio Tinto’s Next Generation team as the R&D Lead for Asset Management, responsible for developing Rio Tinto Asset Management 2030 Vision (Whitepaper & Infographic) including key focus areas which were endorsed by Asset Management Reference Group (AMRG), a consortium of senior Asset Management leaders across Rio Tinto. Data is integrated from numerous sources (laboratory, SCADA systems) and run through a variety of on-line monitoring and diagnosis algorithms incorporating fully automated root cause analysis with results made available to all users in real-time via web-based displays and email notifications. Not only does the system capture operating knowledge (management, metallurgists, operators, maintenance) before it is lost, it has the potential to be linked into other site systems including (but not limited to) maintenance, control systems, training packages or to be used within remote operating and support centres. The project has been extremely well received and is currently being expanded to include integration into daily operations workflow.Technology Developments: Specialist in tools and techniques for advanced monitoring, diagnosis and prediction (machine learning, predictive analytics and intelligent systems).
