Tan Yu has worked in multimedia communication area since 1996 when he enrolled his Ph.D. program in BUPT, he started up his own company Waytech Innovation in 2002 to focus on R&D in VoIP and video conferencing area.The products developed under Tan's leadership include H.323 Gatekeeper, SIP server, H.323/SIP video conference endpoint, H.323/SIP audio/video MCU, high quality audio codecs, H.264/H.265 video encoder/decoder with GPU acceleration, VoIP Billing System, Instant Messaging System, Telecom carrier's BOSS system, Set Top Box for IPTV. These products have been widely deployed in China Unicom, China Telecom and other enterprises.Tan's research area now covers cloud computing and cloud application.
