Project Title: “The East Asian Challenge to Human Rights”: A Comparative Study of Feminist Movements in Japan and the United States 1868-1914Research question: As a liberal Western conception, how are human rights altered upon contact with local contexts? What are alternative systems for the protection of vital human interests and how do they arise?Conducted extensive review and synthesis of secondary source materials on Japanese and American feminist movements between 1868 and 1914 in order to study: (1) the evolution of feminist movements in both countries and (2) norm diffusion and localization in Japan during the Meiji and Taisho periods.

- Developed prompts to be used in audits of multilingual large language models for political bias/propaganda;- Designed and coded module in Python to streamline inference using Hugging Face Inference Client API and transformers library;- Contributed to project GitHub and architected structure of data storage.

Ran sessions and managed participant communications and compensation in a study investigating the impact of communication medium (e.g., video, text) on attitude and opinion shift.
