I am a public health researcher and educator with a passion for creating and promoting healthy communities through chronic disease prevention. My research focuses on the promotion of physical activity and nature engagement to reduce chronic disease risk, improve mental health, and enhance overall well-being. I am currently in the dissertation phase of my PhD in Prevention Science at the University of Oregon, where I am exploring the intersections of environmental characteristics, behavior, and health outcomes. I possess strong data analysis skills evidenced by a degree specialization in educational data science in R. In large part, I have applied my analytical skill in the context of public health research, where I have applied complex statistical methods to investigate the relationships between environmental factors and health outcomes. I also have a passion for leading interdisciplinary teams of researchers, educators, students, and community and business leaders. My ability to lead interdisciplinary teams is evidenced by my successful collaborations across various fields - where I have served as a research coordinator or program lead for many projects - integrating perspectives from health education and promotion, psychology, and environmental science to drive an innovative research agenda or and accomplish shared goals. I bring a strategic mindset, strong communication skills, and a commitment to equity, which are critical for managing projects, fostering collaboration, and translating research into actionable insights—qualities that are highly valuable in any academic, government, or private sector position.
