I am an artist-scholar with a wide-variety of specialized skills and pedagogies that can be applied both academically and professionally. Scholarship and programming I have conducted with underprivileged communities and my background within experiential education and arts-based research has rendered me efficient at communicating with diverse audiences. As an artist-scholar, much of my research is conducted in order to support my belief that an aesthetic engagement provides a toolbox for interpreting our sensory world: it sharpens visual literacy skills, promotes empathy through examining the feelings behind another’s struggle, and leads to a greater sense of social awareness in participants.
