Advocate for legislation, funding, and regulations supporting policy priorities, including but not limited to clean water protections, environmental justice, ecological restoration (forest protection and restoration), outdoor recreation and climate change.Track, review, analyze, and formulate organizational positions on proposed clean water laws,government funding proposals, and regulations.Represent Potomac Conservancy on policy issues primarily at the state and local level in Virginia through meetings, written correspondence and public testimony.Strengthen organizational capacity for advocacy initiatives through the establishment, leadership,and strengthening of partnerships and coalitions.Work with community leaders and other regional and local experts to understand the needs and opportunities for progress on clean water issues, meeting with and consulting with people throughout the communities relevant to program goals.Contribute to the development and implementation of grassroots advocacy campaigns.

• Manages a team of campaign managers overseeing two different youth advocacy campaigns in the state of Virginia that empowers youth to work towards positive policy changes in their communities.• Provides legislative and strategic guidance for statewide policy campaigns, including state and local policy analysis, strategies for advocating for policy change on a state and local level, decision maker targeting, and effective partnership and coalition building.• Develops effective campaign messaging that drives policy change, and shares this messaging with media and other external audiences. This includes material development.• Creates and implements campaign strategies and communicates these with the client and other key stakeholders.
