With over 11 years of experience in the Engineering sector I am a Specialist Process Mechanical Technician at Thames Water, the UK's largest water and wastewater services provider. I am Compex mechanical registered, which means I can work safely in explosive atmospheres and hazardous areas. I have also developed expertise in desalination and water quality, which are essential for ensuring the supply and quality of water for millions of customers. In my current role, I am responsible for maintaining, repairing, and improving the mechanical equipment and systems at the desalination plant, which can produce up to 100 million litres of drinking water per day. I also support the commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of new and existing equipment and processes, as well as the health and safety compliance and risk management. In my previous role as a Mechanical Technician at Thames Water, I worked on the strategic pumping of wastewater, ensuring the efficient and reliable operation of the pumps and valves. Before joining Thames Water, I was a Mechanical Engineer at Nu star energy, where I gained experience in working with oil and gas pipelines and storage facilities. I am passionate about applying my mechanical engineering skills and knowledge to the water sector, which is vital for the environment and society.
