Due to this project being a joint effort with a fellow co-op, I was able to experience working in a collaborative setting with someone of similar project knowledge; something I have not had the opportunity to do before. I also led a research project investigating the effect vehicle ride height has on Suspension Parameter Measurement Machine loadcase data and determined the crucial loadcases needed to create accurate kinematics and compliance maps. This project allowed the company to ignore insignificant loadcases and focus on performing tests to obtain relevant and essential loadcases to accurately model the vehicle, therefore saving time and effort. In this position, I performed on-track analyses of Goodyear Eagle drag and sports car tires at NMCA and SCCA events. With this obtained data, I was able to perform and process in-house lab testing such as durability, footprint, and springrate tests on the race tires. In this position, I obtained hands-on experience in the Goodyear Headquarters racing tires development plant in Akron, OH as well as learn from some of the best in the racing world.
