My name's Zach Dowling and I am a current J.D. candidate at Loyola University New Orleans. I studied philosophy and Spanish as an undergraduate, and am passionate about continuing my education of both. I believe education comes from active learning and active spreading of the knowledge you can pass onto others. This is why I volunteered to teach philosophical concepts to local elementary students through a service learning organization, and why I wanted to become an English teaching assistant in Spain through the Fulbright program.I also value heavily my time in the hospitality industry, which has allowed me to foster my skills as a communicator, teammate, and problem-solver. These same skills were developed further during my time interning at the Orleans Public Defenders office, where I got first-hand experience with the criminal justice system. Additionally, I honed my legal research skills as a paralegal at Casey Denson Law, LLC, a New Orleans-based employment and civil rights law office. As a first-generation university graduate and a first-generation law school student, I plan on combining my wide range of skills to represent others.
