My research interests revolve around investigating the effects of exercise, nutrition, and dietary supplementation on optimizing health and performance. I've built a robust academic foundation, holding a Bachelor of Science in Human Performance and a Master of Science in Exercise & Nutrition Science from The University of Tampa, in addition to a Master of Science in Kinesiology with an Exercise Science concentration from the University of Connecticut.A key distinction of my work is the integration of human performance studies with mechanistic research using the model organism Caenorhabditis elegans (C. elegans). This powerful approach allows me to bridge insights from molecular and cellular levels to their manifestations in human physiology and function. Understanding both the microscopic underpinnings and real-world human applications provides a comprehensive perspective that is unique in my field. My expertise extends beyond maximizing athletic performance, as I'm equally driven to enhance overall health, stress resilience, and quality of life, providing me with a novel, multidimensional perspective. My research experience is extensive, having collaborated on numerous projects funded by prestigious sources like the Department of Defense and the USDA. Leveraging C. elegans models and human subjects, my work spanned diverse methods including sample preparation, bioassays, physical/cognitive testing, data collection, statistical analysis, and contributing to publications and proposals. I've presented findings at seminars and conferences while mentoring undergraduates.Beyond academics, I've actively competed in the amateur bodybuilding circuit in the National Physique Committee (NPC) organization. In essence, my passion for bodybuilding and strength training exemplifies my commitment to embodying the principles of optimal health and performance that I study. This harmonization of mechanistic studies, human research, and personal practice grants me a truly comprehensive purview on optimizing human performance and health. My mission is to empower others to actualize their potential by translating multidisciplinary scientific findings into practical, impactful strategies.
