  • Garneau
    Us Marketing And Sales Specialist
    Garneau May 2018 - Mar 2019
    St-Augustin De-Desmaures, Quebec, Ca
In this role I worked remotely for Garneau, a French-Canadian Cycling company who is among the top cycling brands across the globe. My role was a hybrid position that combined E-Commerce, marketing and sales elements. I would work with cross functional teams to identify and create annual product and branding campaigns to deliver across a variety of audiences during our fiscal year. On the B2C side, I worked with stakeholders to help define our annual campaign calendar, and target the types of content we needed to push the campaigns throughout the year. Ultimately my work contributed to naming product lines, writing copy, blogs, and videos, and writing emails. We also launched a new responsive web design, which I contributed to the overall merchandising of during the design and development process. On the B2B side I was national key accounts manager during an unexpected time of transition for the company. I worked with key retailers such as REI, Amazon, and Backcountry.com on seasonal line presentations, special make ups, sell in strategy, MDF contributions, and organized trade show representation. During my time at Garneau I contributed to significant growth in both the sales and marketing channels while focusing on most relevant KPIs. We were able to take marketshare and become the #1 stocked brand in the US market.Very unexpectedly, I was recruited away from Garneau by the Lenovo NA eCommerce team. While I was extremely sad to leave the cycling industry, I was excited to learn about the tech and consumer electronics industries, and expand my knowledge base and skillset.
  • Performance Bicycle
    Brand Communications Manager
    Performance Bicycle Aug 2017 - May 2018
    Chico, California, Us
After spending 6 years on the merchandising team at Performance Bicycles I moved over to the Marketing team as the Brand Communications Manager. It was an extremely fun position where I was able to work with internal teams to provide direction on new marketing campaigns.I developed a UGC sales strategy through content ambassadors, sponsored the Fuji-Performance Factory Enduro Team, spearheaded all social campaigns, seeded products for reviews to media groups, was a blog contributor, and online personality, or “face” of Performance Bicycle, through the Performance Bike Scoop and our YouTube product review channel, among many other contributions.I significantly grew our social presence and following during this time, and created an all new #bikeloveisreal campaign that we used for giveaways and social campaigns. The hashtag is still in frequent use amongst die hard cycling IGers across the globe.By this time in my cycling career I had began to really admire the work I was seeing done amongst my partners on the branded side of the industry, and took a job at Garneau Sports, INC to learn about the other side of the industry.
  • Performance Bicycle
Product Manager For Apparel And Footwear
    Performance Bicycle Jun 2014 - Aug 2017
    Chico, California, Us
In this role I oversaw a $30M business across multiple categories, planned, developed, and grew the Performance line of men's and women's cycling apparel, selected branded retail and direct assortments to complement our private label brand, and drove sales and promotions in all channels of the business. During this time I witnessed first hand the shift to digital eCommerce marketplaces and boutique internet brands that have defined our space today. This was by far one of the best jobs I've ever had from a professional development stance. This role did the work of a 4P category manager, retail buyer, and house branded apparel product manager who had a hand in the design and development of our private label brand. I owned the apparel and footwear product lifecycle through all stages and was able to work with some of the best brands in the cycling space. I had one direct report, and provided direction to our design, development, marketing, planning, distribution, and retail sales/merchandising teams across Performance Bicycle's 100+ specialty retail locations, as well as an expanded online ecommerce business.I was able to "defend and extend" our apparel business at the time. We covered the bread winning categories while expanding into women's specific, footwear, athleisure, and urban cycling categories. Our team was able to drive strong gains in sales during a challenging time where the rest of the industry was stagnant. My strong sense of direction and new approach on the cycling industry ultimately landed our products in nationwide buyer's guides, cycling guides, YouTube channels, and even on a super bowl commercial, which then led me to another role on our Marketing team.
  • Performance Bicycle
    Apparel Merchandising Assistant
    Performance Bicycle Nov 2012 - Jun 2014
    Chico, California, Us
During my time as MA I really focused on the blocking and tackling, or "boots on the ground" daily tasks of our apparel team, but also began to get a real taste of assortment planning, product development, 4P strategy and global supply chain requirements.I assisted in buying and selling cycling apparel and shoes for over 100 stores and an online direct business. I was responsible for driving email and web promotions on a daily/weekly/monthly basis for apparel/footwear, and was given the urban specific cycling apparel and accessory category manager responsibilities to drive those areas of the business. I would also maintain all backend operations to merchandise Performance stores and www.performancebike.com appropriately, was able to assist in R&D of the Performance proprietary apparel line, tested potential vendor apparel to ensure product quality, and attended retail trade shows to find potential brands to add incremental sales to the Performance apparel business. This role basically did a little bit of everything.A strong work ethic with sales lifts in my categories, and a progressive outlook on our apparel and footwear business ultimately provided the opportunity to step into the category/product manager role.

    Web Merchant
    Performance Bicycle Nov 2011 - Nov 2012
    Chico, California, Us
My first role at Performance was the Web Merchant, who in essence was the floor Manager for our ecommerce site, Performancebike.com. I was the first person to ever hold this new role, which was created during the early phases of digital transformation in the blended retail space. My role here was to work with internal teams to ensure performancebike.com was merchandised and promoted according to company's standards and industry best practices for online direct sales, as well as perform analysis of site functionality, sales data, and relevancy of site content. We launched a new website during this time and began to build the framework for BOPIS and BOSFS. I was on several committees during this time, including an omni-channel committee that helped identify future business requirements that would eventually lead to Performance Bicycle being an award winning omni-channel retailer in the US.
  • The Bicycle Chain
    Shop Manager
The Bicycle Chain May 2010 - Nov 2011

Staff training, scheduling, customer service, sales, inventory management, and forecasting/purchasing were the primary responsibilities of the role. While I was there our store saw healthy sales increases during a stagnant time of the industry due to top quality product assortment, high levels of customer service, and unparalleled staff knowledge. Towards the end of my tenure here my wife and I had twin daughters, and I moved on to Performance Bicycles, who at the time was the largest cycling eCommerce and B&M retailer in the world.
