Zachary White, former member of the Bluecoats Drum & Bugle Corps and 2016 Drum Corps International champion, is a percussion educator in the Tucson and greater - Tucson areas where he teaches, composes, and arranges for Mica Mountain High School, Rincon University High School and Ironwood Ridge High School.White has toured and performed across the country as an auxiliary percussionist with the Bluecoats Drum & Bugle Corps and as drum captain with the Pride of Arizona marching and pep bands. White has also toured throughout Arizona with the Cariad, Kino and the Saints, the Wilson-Welty Trio, the Kinda Cool Quintet, Half Full, TMPL, the Tucson Modern Jazz Quartet, the Wholly Cats Swing Club, and Blue Honey as well as participated in dozens of public performances at the University of Arizona and throughout the Tucson community with ensembles such as the Pride of Arizona Marching and Pep bands, UA Wind Symphony, UA Wind Ensemble, Arizona Symphony Orchestra, UA Percussion Ensemble, UA Electronic Percussion Ensemble, and the Arizona Contemporary Ensemble. White currently performs with Chateau Chateau, TMPL, the Tucson Modern Jazz Quartet, the Wholly Cats Swing Club, and Blue Honey.Outside of teaching in public schools and performing throughout the Tucson and great - Tucson areas, White also maintains a private percussion studio and composes solo percussion works (e.g. marimba, vibraphone, drum set) and electronic music. White holds two bachelors degrees in instrumental music education and music performance in percussion as well as a masters degree in music performance in percussion from the University of Arizona's Fred Fox School of Music.Email: zacharywhiteperc@gmail.com
