KIPP - The Knowledge is Power Program - is a national nonprofit network of college-preparatory, public charter schools educating elementary, middle, and high school scholars. The St. Louis chapter's mission is "Together with families and communities, we create joyful, academically excellent schools that prepare students with the skills and confidence to pursue the paths they choose—college, career, and beyond—so they can lead fulfilling lives and build a more just world."During my time working at KIPP St. Louis High School, I taught Pre-AP Geometry and was a 9th grade advisory teacher. I strengthened my presence in the classroom by defining and executing consistent classroom procedures, . I increased student engagement and success by setting classroom goals and providing learning incentives. I ensured all students could learn by providing them with sufficient scaffolding and multiple levels of questioning to push them to the upper-limits of their respective zones of proximal development.
