I lead the Scientific Computing effort to support research at the Van Andel Institute. Major technical components include Petabyte-scale distributed/parallel storage, Cluster/Grid computing, Hybrid cloud/AWS workloads. I Work closely with scientists and faculty to design and support analyses in Genomics, Structural Biology and Cryo-EM, epigenetics, next-gen sequencing, molecular-dynamics, bioinformatics and biostatistics. In addition to the core technical work, my team and I work with Scientists and investigators on grants and contracts and to ensure we are meeting our data, sharing and security obligations.
