I attended the Georgia Institute of Technology and graduated in 2005 with a B.S. in Business Management. It was there that I began to carefully observe and become increasingly curious about the development that was rapidly occurring all around our campus in Midtown, Atlanta. I was inspired by what these changes represented to me, some of which were; progress, growth, an improved future state, and a catalyst for positive impacts on quality of life. I became motivated to get involved, joining a student group that met regularly to review and discuss the campus master plan, a comprehensive guide for smart, planned growth. Upon graduation, I was armed with a desire to learn more about real estate and development. I took an internship with Brasfield & Gorrie, a large general contractor with major projects across the southeast. I had the opportunity to assist the superintendent with onsite tasks associated with the construction of Buckhead Church’s Peachtree Road location. Upon completion of my internship, I moved back to my hometown of Dalton, Georgia, the carpet capital of the world. Although I exchanged dirt, grass, and buildings for flooring, one thing that remained was my desire to be a part of improving the world around me and passion for helping facilitate progress. I spent 13.5 years sharpening my leadership skills and business acumen at Shaw Industries, the premier leader in the flooring industry. From marketing services, to carpet reclamation, to sales operations; my roles were always centered around the customer and how to best service them, whether through creating excellent experiences, increasing productivity, or enabling targeted and prescriptive performance coaching. While at Shaw, I successfully led strategic initiatives and key programs on behalf of a global sales organization of over 350 account managers, 40 sales leaders and VPs, as well as countless architect and design firms, dealers, and end users. I then had an opportunity to transfer my skills and transition my experience to Huali Floors, a Chinese-owned OEM producer of hard surface flooring, specifically in the LVT category. As a part of the team at the North American Headquarters, I launched and led Customer Success efforts. From client activation to order fulfillment to retention, I managed all phases of the customer lifecycle for companies ranging from a leading national flooring retailer, a global flooring manufacturer, to regional distributors. I am passionate about working for a growth oriented and purpose driven company that operates with integrity and wholeness.
