Welcome to my profile! My name is Zahra, and I am a Registered Psychotherapist driven by the belief that everyone deserves compassionate care and the opportunity to thrive in their personal and professional lives.***I bring over 10 years of experience across residential, hospital, and community-based settings, including 7 years in addiction/substance use health counselling and advocacy, and 5 years in team supervision and project/program management. My career has largely focused on addressing the stigma, discrimination, and language surrounding substance use health and examining their impact on health outcomes, accessibility barriers, and service delivery. some of my other interests include emergency mental health care; drug policy/trend analysis; creating culturally-informed protocols for practice; quality improvement; program development, implementation, and evaluation, and the impact of structural stigma on health outcomes.My areas of expertise include: -clinical service work-system navigation-training and mentorship -stakeholder engagement-knowledge dissemination/educationI am a Master of Social Work (MSW) student at the University of Toronto, currently in my final year of the Human Services Management and Leadership stream (Class of ’25).
