As an operations specialist, I am heavily involved with the workflows, processes, and data analyses for the company (and in particular the Care Team). Our team handles everything from patient exceptions to Care App updates to client implementation assistance. In this role, I have worked extensively with other Carrum departments to improve the company's scalability and ensure we are on trend to meet our OKRs. I conduct large-scale data analysis projects and suggest new guidelines and workflows to improve our core functions. My projects have centered around number of surgeries, patient retention, and improving the patient and Care Team member experience when using our Care App tool.

As a patient care specialist, I guided patients through the entire Carrum Health surgical journey. I had over 120 patients complete a surgery with me, including many repeat patients who specifically requested to have me as their specialist again. In this role, I was able to get more involved in larger scale cross-functional projects and leverage my knowledge of the entire patient journey to assist other departments. Some of my projects included the creation of a tracking board for changes to our Care App, updating tasks for the Care Team, creating scripting for patient offline calls, and supporting my manager in ticket follow ups.

I worked with our surgery patients to take them through the first steps of our program's process. This included fielding phone calls, making outreaches, troubleshooting, and being a point of contact for my patients. In this role, I managed a caseload of anywhere from 40-90 cases, while also working on side projects. Due to my medical knowledge, I was put on the medical records review team where I reviewed records for our entire Care Team before they were sent on to our Centers of Excellence with patient referrals.

My position changed from implementation specialist to growth marketing specialist with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Since I was no longer able to go to offices and work face-to-face with our users, my tasks changed to researching, implementing, and reporting on user engagement experiments and strategies. Our primary focus involves email marketing of our app, as well as some phone calls and fax engagement.

As an implementation specialist, I was responsible for on-the-ground interactions with our customer base in NYC. I met with physicians and their office staff to introduce our referrals app, help them get set up on it, and provide assistance and support as needed. In this role, I also liaised with some of the administration personnel at our hospital clients and provided support and metrics for data analysis.

As a part-time server, I was responsible for ensuring that customers were seated, able to order, and had a pleasant experience at the bar. Overall, I really enjoyed my time at Brooklyn Tap House because I was able to meet a large variety of clientele and become more engaged with my community in Brooklyn. Unfortunately, the business closed at the end of 2019, so I was unable to continue working there.

I interacted with customers and ensured that they had a smooth check-in experience whenever they attended a fitness class. I maintained the cleanliness of the facilities and studios. My responsibilities also included opening and/or closing the studio for the day a few times a week.

Over the course of my time working in this lab I have been able to partake in a variety of interesting and inspiring experiments. I have learned how to conduct analyses, use lab-specific software and instruments (including behavioral science techniques and the fMRI), and follow through on thought-provoking questions to drive forward experiments and data collection. The work I participated in is now under review at a multitude of scientific journals including Nature Communications Biology.

Earlier this year in May, I was given the privilege of serving as the captain of our varsity women's squash team for the 2017-18 year. This new leadership position has driven me to adapt to and fulfill a new role in a familiar setting. As captain, I support the team with my skills and character, while encouraging the unit to strive toward their best selves both on and off the court. I am eager extend my support to the team and develop enhanced leadership skills whilst continuing to improve in my squash career and mentor my team!

This job has been incredibly rewarding as I am able to work with kids, ages 6-14, to help enhance and hone their on-court squash skills, build lasting good-sportsmanship ideals, and promote a healthy lifestyle and work ethic. I am required to have exceptional organizational and listening skills to create notes that actually help the student they are meant for. This job also fosters responsibility and discretion by enforcing a 24 hour window in which to send notes to the recipient who may wish to remain anonymous.

At VillageMD, I began my journey into healthcare fulfilling an internship role as an impactful team member on the Chicago Market Populations Health Operations and Business Development team. Venturing into healthcare with intent to one day become a surgeon, I facilitated physician outreach and helped physicians manage chronically ill patients in their practice. This experience educated me on the business setting of healthcare while allowing me to grow professionally in a way dissimilar to my normal scientifically-oriented settings. I learned an immense amount about the healthcare system I one day desire to thrive in.

I was able to work with a neuropathologist, Dr. Harris, both shadowing him and conducting research in his lab. Dr. Harris taught me so much about the brain and allowed me to learn by asking questions, doing research (physical research in the lab and also looking into questions I had), and taking part in brain cuttings. Learning from many different modalities- visual, auditory, tactile - allowed me to thoroughly engage with the material and helped me to retain information. I was able to further my knowledge of the brain and the human body and learn more about the field of medicine in the process.

This experience took me out of my comfort zone because I had never worked with ModelUN before. My role involved monitoring the Dartmouth Model UN social media accounts and updating our participants on conference dates and information. As the public relations director, I had to speak with faculty from different schools to obtain information relevant to our event. It was my job to be the head of communication for our organization and ensure that certain events ran smoothly during the conference itself.

During the summer of my sophomore year, I was able to work with the New Hampshire Birth Cohort Study at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. During my time with the study, I was trusted to work with confidential paperwork and complete data entry for further analysis. I was also tasked with creating the data sample collection kits for various stages in the longitudinal study. This study is still ongoing and will be running for quite a while.

This job was my first foray in to the working world. I was able to work with a different group of kids each week and facilitate different activities for them, from pool trips to arts and crafts to rock climbing. This was a great experience for me because I learned how to effectively communicate with people of all ages, children, my peers and fellow counselors, and the parents. I would always come home tired at the end of the day, but it was fulfilling to know that I was making an impact on a kid's fun summer.
