The Arab Center of Washington is a non-profit organization working in Washington State to foster deeper understanding of and appreciation for the rich and vibrant Arab culture and its cultural contributions, through educational programs and community outreach events.

I manage the Speakers Bureau program, which contains 30 speakers that collectively deliver hundreds of talks in every corner of the state to audiences at libraries, schools, colleges, museums and historical societies, retirement homes, community centers, civic organizations and other locations, on numerous humanities related topics. In 2012, I conducted a state-wide search for scholars and speakers to join the Speakers Bureau program. This effort included working with a statewide search committee, coordinating auditions, and conducting public speaking and facilitation workshops. I produce a popular conversation series called "Think & Drink" at several locations across Washington state that includes recruiting and vetting suitable presenters and moderators on numerous topics, collaborating with various organizations and publicizing the events.

I managed an 8 person education and community outreach department for a Tony Award winning theatre. Created and maintained 6 distinct community outreach programs that attracted new and diverse audiences, and formed partnerships with leading civic organizations across Washington State. I created and Maintained relationships with community organizations, arts institutions, community leaders and elected officials that advocated on behalf of Intiman Theatre. I managed a student matinee program that brought in more than 3,000 students from across the state to the theatre per season, and facilitated post play conversations with the students and actors, as well as various artistic workshopsI managed and coordinated a touring arts-in-education program to high schools across the state, and developed an accompanying study guide for teachers. I created a new youth education initiative that explored community engagement and active citizenship through the arts.

I managed three funding campaigns that produced more than $150,000 in contributed income, and strengthened the annual donation renewal process by overhauling the content of the solicitation letters.I authored three grant requests that resulted in more than $25,000 for education and community programs during the fall of 2009.I cultivated new donations through a meet-and-greet program that acknowledged patrons’ and subscribers’ support.

I overhauled the foundation’s database system by re-organizing and verifying the information of over 150 grantees, as well as instituting an archival system for past grantees.I oversaw the grant making process which included generating grant agreements, processing multi-year funding contracts and collecting biannual reports.

I provided administrative support to two program officers, including calendar management, travel planning, grantee research and meeting facilitation.I aided in the production and distribution of an annual report, and provided administrative support on conferences across different US regions.

Insured clients’ compliance with the Securities and Exchange Commission by facilitating the electronic delivery of all financial statement to the commission. Managed all aspects of the printing and distribution of annual reports, quarterly reports and proxy statements. Coordinated the printing and distribution aspects of initial public offerings. Served on the team that handled the launch of Zummies’ IPO.
