I am a community leader with organization and communications experience in refugee and new immigrant settlement, operations and cooperative sectors. Having been a refugee claimant myself, I believe that community service and working closely with those with lived experiences can build bridges to stronger capacity building and policy.Co Director of LightWork Consulting Cooperative, a workers co-op focused on fostering justice and belonging through safer, inclusive, and more diverse work environments. We walk the journey of change alongside organizations to create an environment where differences are valued through a culture of care.I have worked with a wide range of people from those experiencing barriers to working C-level executives in Canada, US and Internationally. Since moving to the unceded land of the Coast Salish peoples', I have been advocating for refugee claimants' housing, right to work, and helping them find belonging through my current position at Kinbrace Community Society as the Achieving Financial Mobility Project Coordinator.I interned with the Multi-Agency Partnerships BC, leadership development with SFU’s social innovation hub RADIUS and a Country Co-Investigator (CCI) and a research assistant on the Global Leadership & Organizational Behavior Effectiveness (GLOBE).Currently working on a wide variety of projects including Operations Coordinator at Solid State Community Industries addressing the economic immobilities of racialized migrant youth, and a member of the City of Vancouver's Racial and Ethno-Cultural Equity Advisory Committee. My International work experience includes managing the marketing, sales and rentals for four residential buildings in Jordan, journalist translator for media outlets like Aljazeera and Sunday Times and was promoted operations, finance and accounting manager at 24 Media Production Company.
