In a full circle moment, I’m proud to be back at the very place that gave me my start in the industry, doing my part to champion the work, the people and the independence. As part of the Mother family globally, we’re on a mission to make our industry more relevant and attractive to a new generation of creatives, with work that ‘Make Our Children Proud’.We’ve helped DBS, Singapore’s largest consumer bank, to preserve the country’s fast-disappearing hawker heritage, with a cheeky political-campaign-inspired film, compelling Singaporeans to vote for their favourite hawkers.Together with AIC (Agency for Integrated Care) we broke ageist stereotypes by taking the internet’s favourite insult to older persons ‘Ok, Boomer’, and documented the journey of 5 senior athletes defiantly running ‘Boomer is OK’ spelt out in an epic 23.69km relay-route across the country’s coastline. We then got Southeast Asia’s leading conservation and biodiversity brand, Mandai Wildlife Group, to create Good Threads : A Gen Z targeted fashion collection that not only is 100% salvaged material (yes, including 100% up-cycled plastic hardware) but also has special design features that boosts your pro-planet performance. Like a forget-proof foldable tote bag on the side of your shorts, so you’ll never need a supermarket plastic bag ever again. The entire collection sold out in 6 minutes.

Senior Creative

Singapore, Singapore

As part of the Global Business Marketing (GBM) Brand & Creative team, my work spans markets across Asia Pacific, including Australia, Japan, and Korea. We come up with creative B2B campaigns and solutions for Meta’s family of apps and services, with brands, partners and agencies in mind. This role has called for creative work with a distinctly global strategic lens, while working with diverse cross-office teams in marketing, digital and experiential disciplines.Joining the team during the pandemic was an interesting experience, and witnessing a seismic name-change made it even more so. The creative chaos of remote shoots and WFH adjustments strengthened how we collaborated and became the genesis of our global Instagram campaign ‘Tag in’. Launching in Berlin and South Korea, over ten different creators were tagged-in to collaborate and create with each other remotely, in the true spirit of Instagram. The climate pushed many businesses to expand cross-border to survive. ‘Go global like a local’ was designed to help these businesses export to new markets, but with additional help from the people who knew best - The locals. On a personal level, COVID-19 saw our team reaching out to small businesses (many of whom were friends, friends-of-friends and family) to help them tide over these trying times with Facebook financial relief and real-life application of our product knowledge. We were their personal ad agency, using our staff credits where we could, to boost more deliveries and sales. We were also inspired to form ‘Night School - Run by Mums’ - A programme run by Mums, for mums, who were financially-impacted by the pandemic. Held weekly during the kid-free hours of 8 to 9pm, our curriculum inspired and up-skilled independent mumpreneurs. Launching in the Philippines, it has now become the model for Night School programmes in South Korea, Indonesia and North America.

Joined this family of 10 as employee #8 and the first Creative hired to build the Singapore office. I worked across a majority of accounts as Senior Art lead.Spontaneously, we became a start-up for start-ups, winning new economy clients such as SEAsia's first decacorn Grab, Asia's fastest growing online marketplace Carousell and local home-grown companies such as Love Bonito, Hipvan, and Hmlet.Throughout our growth, we made it a point to work on missions that mattered to us : One of which saw us championing inclusive hiring with United Overseas Bank, and another where we challenged the "996" culture of extreme overtime in China with Michelob Ultra. We continued to work across offices with LA, Amsterdam and Sydney to create work for Adidas, Facebook, Aptamil and Google.

My experience here explored the blend of technology and storytelling for clients such as Uber, Nikon and Dulux - I would come out of this with an incurable obsession for innovation. While on the team, we won the global digital account for Nikon, launched a new Colour Tester product for Dulux in the SEAsian market and helped Citra, Rexona and Close Up make an impact across the region. We also got Uber riders to reconnect with loved ones during Ramadan, by turning dead time during an Uber commute into an opportunity to call anyone anywhere in the world, for free.

Oct 2015 - Jan 2018

Art Director

Joined the team to work specifically on Singapore telco StarHub. On top of our regular ATL and BTL duties, we focused on pushing the brand into an experiential and interactive space.

Memorable moments include creating a flying custom-built bright pink balloon drone for Evian, getting 8 year old girls championing female friendships for Lego Friends, and persuading a hugely superstitious asian audience to watch a celebrity medium's 'sessions' during Hungry Ghost Festival.

Sep 2013 - Jan 2015

Junior Art Director

Start-ups are exhausting, but also the most rewarding, when you see it flourish in way you'd never expect. I joined TSLA when they were just a 15 man operation as employee number #13, cutting my teeth working on a wide variety of accounts. This included everything from F&B (Evian, Badoit, Nature Valley, Ben & Jerry's), consumer goods (Drypers), Toys (Lego Friends), TV channels (CHK), automobiles (Volkswagon) to government accounts (Economic Development Board of Singapore).
