Zay ChawSUNY Geneseo GraduateMy name is Zay Chaw, and I am a Thai refugee who was born in Thailand and raised in New York all my life. I am a first-generation immigrant striving to achieve the American dream. I have encountered numerous obstacles throughout my life, but these challenges have shaped me into the person I am today.Being a first-generation immigrant, graduating from SUNY Geneseo has been a significant achievement for me. It was incredibly rewarding to see the joy on my mom's face. She has always been my biggest role model, working tirelessly day and night to provide for me and my sister. Witnessing her smile brought me immense happiness. This experience has helped me realize the satisfaction I find in making others smile. It's probably why I am so passionate about the field of consumer service, as it allows me to brighten a customer's day in some small way.Through my journey, I've had the privilege of meeting many wonderful friends and colleagues. However, I believe that the best is yet to come in my career.Currently, at Canandaigua National Bank & Trust, I work as a FLOAT, merging my education from SUNY Geneseo in mathematics and critical thinking to provide exceptional client service. The knowledge I gained from my studies has prepared me to analyze and solve complex customer inquiries, ultimately cultivating satisfaction and loyalty.My ability to communicate effectively, developed through my academic pursuits and work experience, enables me to explain financial concepts clearly to diverse audiences. My drive is fueled by the joy of making a difference, one customer at a time, reflecting the values and resilience instilled in me through my family's pursuit of the American dream.
