As a Scientist my duties involve creating, executing, and analyzing results of custom NGS experiments for clients using both short- and long-read sequencing technology, all in a CAP/CLIA certified, GMP/GLP compliant laboratory.As a Project Manager, I act as the point of contact for several clients and companies in the cell and gene therapy field. I handle all aspects of any NGS project, from assay design to results delivery, as well as quote construction, timeline/personnel management, and sample tracking.

Read, summarize and present research articles for research team. I also review statistics and statistical analyses, assist with data presentation and data management.

Instructor of Record for upper division (junior and senior level students) genetics course (EEMB 129). I would lecture three times a week for over 130 students, write and grade exams, and had two Teaching Assistants (TA) under my supervision as well. Topics included from basic Mendelian genetics, probability and statistics, population genetics, transcription, translation, gene regulation, sequencing, and gene editing.

I oversaw 25 other graduate student Teaching Assistants (TA) for Intro Biology Labs at UCSB. With over 1,200 undergraduate students enrolled in the course, there are 40 labs every week and it was my job to prepare the TAs at the for every lab, every week. In addition to assisting the TAs with material and weekly timelines, I also acted as a consultant for difficult students and teaching techniques. I also assisted with lab practical (exam) writing with faculty associated with the course. In 2020, I singularly developed weekly lesson plans for the entire course to replace lab exercises during the first quarter of remote learning.

I was the Graduate Teaching Assistant for field courses (Field Techniques in Terrestrial Vertebrate Ecology), lab courses (Introductory Biology Labs), and discussion sections (Molecular Evolution, Population Genetics, Genetics, Macroevolution).

Directed 29 high-achieving high school students as they researched and wrote a literature review in the field of human population genetics. I taught them both basic and complex tenets of population genetics as well as an introduction to DNA sequence analysis.

Acted as President of the Gaucho Tour Association at UCSB. Was in charge of hiring and training a new class of tour guides, tour manual editing, and all communication between student tour guides and Admissions Staff. Was the only student representative on the 2014 Spring Insight Planning Board (UCSB's annual Open House for prospective students).
