I was contracted recently to design a Poster for Hounslow Council, in order to advertise the Horn of Africa event. The event was organised to raise much needed funds for the famine stricken region. The result was a great success with many backers, visitors and substantial funds raised.

King'S College, London Strand,London, Wc2R 2Ls,

 As Online Content & Projects Manager/Web editor, my role at King’s College was varied and involved editing images and content for various departments within External Relations Directorate. I am the first point of contact between External Relations and the Web & Portals team and therefore, I need to make a brief regularly on the Online Projects List for External Relations Director. I liaised with External Relations Heads of Departments & Information providers to ensure that the web projects list is accurate and regularly updated. I worked with the Web & Portals Team to manage the resolution of all technical issues relating to the development and maintenance of External Relations website & related websites. I provided technical support for the College’s weekly staff ezine and offered advice & assistance on other ezines developed in ERD, the Graduate School & other key frontline departments. I offered training to assist in the productions and distribution of ezines to key internal & external audiences. I ensured that all aspects of the ERD site are compliant with the corporate guidelines for the web, the King’s house style and consistent with web strategy. I keep a watching brief on new media developments and advise on their application to the Colleges communication strategies. I undertook other duties required by the Director of External Relations.

As web editor my role involved the development of the Hounslow Attic Website for young people in the borough.  Responsibilities included maintaining and updating the website using a content management system, making podcasts, taking photos/videos, editing them to upload, encouraging contributions from young people, attending young peoples events and occasional assistance at the Connexions Drop-In Centre known as The Attic.  To carry out a range of other duties linked to the provision of information, advice, guidance and personal development opportunities to young people living or attending school in the borough of Hounslow. To monitor the website’s usage with Google Analytics and to make a monthly report. This will be critical after the site undergoes re-development. To provide assistance to Connexions, Hounslow Youth Service and Hounslow Children’s Services in maintaining their websites, assisting with the set up of recruitment events around the borough. To work with Hounslow ICT dealing with any technical faults, to work with the site developers to make any major changes to the design/build of the website, to work with Prospects to create a section about Employment/Education developing the relevant content for it and to consult with young people, getting feedback about the kind of things they want to see on the website.

BBC Training & Development  My role at the BBC was based in Training mainly but is also varied including many other aspects. I looked after specific BBC courses such as the Upfront BBCWide Induction course, hiring Freelancers & Trainers to instruct students.  I edited Web pages and uploaded media to the delegate websites. I assisted attendees with any technical support required. I set up bespoke courses in SAP and assisted delegates to find external courses in IT or in professional courses such as Accounting and Law. I looked after the Conference Centre, Control Room and Media Gallery.

I worked at Regional Office for DWP - JobcentrePlus on the London Infrastructure Team. I was involved in other IT Project work around the replacement of bespoke software/hardware such as SAP Servers, Laptops, Monitors, Base units across London & South-East Region. My role varied between Project Management, Systems Administration and IT Help-desk Support, my responsibilities included: -  IT Equipment & Telephony was procured using the REMEDY & PEREGRINE databases. I provided technical assistance and support to customers on an IT Helpdesk. I maintained and ensured that systems ran efficiently for daily business often changing passwords and logging errors on bespoke systems. I liased with our colleagues who were our customers & our IT partners - EDS, Premises Managers on queries, faults, change requests and basically problem solving. I dealt with office moves to new sites, existing buildings, equipment installation and oversaw the deployment. I produced management Information on the office moves, new equipment and costs and attended meetings to discuss feedback and concerns. I spoke at events regarding new projects and technology. I trained staff on new software/hardware and supported them day to day. I managed customer expectations by providing technical, procedural and policy advice and quality assured - Work Order and Design Documents prior to implementation. I liaised with our IT Partners – EDS and the Local Offices during implementation to provide technical assistance during implementation with regards to bespoke software. I managed and identified incidents during roll-out to pro-actively resolve any issues and provided training to support staff at all stages of the project and provided feedback of any concerns to the Project Managers. I attended conferences to demonstrate New Technology to customers, partners and colleagues.I produced articles, aide memoirs regarding computing procedures, care and maintenance
