As an intern at MATV, a non-profit Boston-area TV dedicated to promoting local community engagement, I learned that there are always interesting stories to be told in different communities. Malden, a city in the Greater Boston Area, is one with a particularly rich history of immigrants from all over the world. During my limited time here, I was fortunate enough to be able to interview a couple of local seniors, who could share with me their families' immigration stories that stretch well over 100 years. The notes that I kept from these conversations would contribute to MATV's citizen journalism project "Neighborhood View", where local residents share their thoughts and stories. In addition, I maintained MATV's social media accounts during my internship and curated content for the "2018 Year in Review" series on Instagram.

As a PR intern at BrainCo, one of my primary tasks was to draft the bilingual (Chinese and English) press kit for the International Consumer Electronics Show 2019 at Las Vegas. With the support of my mentor and colleagues within the department, I learned the basics of writing a press release and social listening. In addition, as part of promoting the company's new educational program "Sharing of Top-Tier Students", I presented the program to over 300 students and parents via invite-only Wechat group chat, during which I felt the joy from sharing meaningful information with people that could help them achieve their individual study goals.
