Provide consecutive and whispered interpretation services in person and over the phone.

As a Standardized Patient I portray cases based on real life patient scenarios. This includes memorizing a script with a patient’s medical history and life background, and simulating physical and mental symptoms both in person and over the phone. While portraying a case, I am also responsible for evaluating the medical student and providing feedback on his or her performance. Scenarios that I have portrayed also include impersonating a Portuguese or Spanish speaking patient, or acting as a translator for one.

As an actress I did several local commercials (TV & print), many theater productions and a few independent movies. Also worked on numerous corporate training videos (on camera and voice over). As a dancer, choreographed shows and performed with local theaters, as well as at fundraiser events. As part of the Board of Directors of the Pittsburgh New Works Festival, I was responsible for helping produce several plays by marketing them and selling advertisement. Worked as an emcee and as a stage manager for the same festival on different seasons.

Helped the kids with crafts, computer games and also played and participated in various activities with them. Sat bedside with kids that couldn't be at the playroom, reading to them and telling stories (fables) I learned growing up in Brazil. It was the best part of my entire week, hanging out with such spirited and brave kids!

As a technical consultant I did software analysis, design, development and deployment for various local and remote clients. I crafted several component-based web applications using Java, EJB, JSP and other J2EE technologies. I took different leadership roles throughout many assigned projects, from leading development teams to functioning as the architect for specific assessments. I also helped mentor less experienced consultants. Clients included MSA, RedLeaf, Medibuy.com, Premier and Ripple Effects (visitpa.com).

Worked on the bank's Branch Automation project. In the Infrastructure Module, helped develop, support and maintain a system that downloaded data from the mainframe and populated local branch databases. In the Retail Platform Module, designed and implemented several tools used by branch managers to provide customized services for their clients.
