I am an ambitious, highly motivated Graduate research scientist. My interests are particularly in Parasitology, neglected tropical diseases, One health and molecular epidemiology. I have a strong background in microbiology and biotechnology and have gained skills in molecular biology that I employ to serve in different capacities. I have excellent analytical skills and ability to simplify and model complex scientific problems. I have worked with excellent world renowned research scientists in developing research proposals and research grants. I have supported projects as a research assistance. My first project as principal investigator was entitled “Isolation and characterization of bacteria from toilet door handles, sink tap knobs and Rentokil containers in Chiromo campus, University of Nairobi” which I successfully completed and was awarded a Bachelors of Science degree in Microbiology and Biotechnology. In 2019 I enrolled for Master's studies and began my research project “Prevalence of intestinal parasites and its associated risk factors among a community living in Oloisukut Conservancy ,Narok County, Kenya”. I presented at the Kenya One Health Conference an abstract titled “Prevalence of intestinal parasitic infections in humans” in 2021 held at ILRI. In 2022, I presented my work at the 12th KEMRI Annual Scientific and health (KASH) Conference and was awarded as the best presenter for neglected tropical diseases (NTD) and One health. I have trained, guided and mentored undergraduate students undertaking their attachment at Center for Microbiology Research (KEMRI). My career goals is to carry out remarkable research geared towards the One health concept and be better placed to inform the policy makers on better prevention and control measures of science, technology and innovation (STI) challenges facing Africa , share knowledge, skills, ideas and mentor young upcoming African scientists. My drive and love for challenges are reflected in my love for sports and adventure as an adrenaline junkie. I also love to cook and am a knack for dancing and poetry.
