About Christian Zirpins

Christian Zirpins is a full professor for Distributed Systems in the faculty of Computer Science and Business Information Systems at Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences, Germany. His areas of interest include distributed middleware- and software-technologies for data-centric systems engineering. Christian studied computer science and business administration at Hamburg University where he also received his PhD focusing on service-oriented systems. In 2006, he was awarded a Marie Currie Fellowship to conduct studies on software service engineering at University College London (UCL). In 2008 he joined the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and acted as a research team leader and project manager in the area of Services and Cloud Computing. In 2011 Christian changed to SEEBURGER AG, where he was working in the area of business-to-business integration with a special focus on big data applications. In 2015, Christian accepted the appointment to a full professorship at Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences. Christian published some 70+ papers and articles. He is a member of various programme and organization committees and acts as a reviewer for a range of major journals.
