As a software engineer at Astor Scientific, I collaborate with data analysts and biotech lab scientists to develop and implement a web app platform in the life science domain. I leverage my diverse skills in JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, React, Redux, PostgreSQL, and AWS to create a comprehensive and impactful platform that enhances the user experience and the workflow efficiency.I am also a business/managerial economics student at UC Santa Cruz, expected to graduate in January 2023. I have a strong interest in problem-solving and contributing value to projects on a day-to-day basis. Through my past experiences as a software engineering intern at Quanta Computer Inc. and Igenesis Co., Ltd., I have developed a solid mindset of learning quickly and applying what I learned on the spot. I also enjoy working with a team and often play the role of communication facilitator during the process. Before my last quarter, I decided to take a gap year to explore my passion for programming through self-teaching and joining App Academy. Despite the challenges of entering an unfamiliar field, I have learned a lot about being a software engineer and have become a more resilient problem solver. Now, I am more determined than ever to achieve my goals by continuously sharpening my programming skills throughout this journey. Currently, I am diving deep into backend development by developing an ER diagram for a new database schema for an upcoming feature and writing an API service that incorporates OpenAI to enhance user experience for a co-founded company. In my free time, I am exploring a new framework with Typescript to improve application security and Kubernetes for better architecture design for future application development. I am always finding time to learn more!
